The Polish folk art style of paper-cutting is often characterized by its elaborate curves, blunt edges and rural-themed designs: flowers, grass, roosters, folky-folks. They are often, symmetrical on at least one fold, but can also contain multiple folds in different sections of a single piece. There was a time when they were made using sheep shearing scissors; so far I’ve been using office scissors and still having a hard time. The designs vary by region and can become incredibly complex and colourful. Some recent werx, bearing both traditional and scissor-happy shenanigans. Set on 4″ x 6″ greeting cards, individually hand-cut & pasted.
